   English Translation:Christmas Long Ago

 Long long ago in Bethlehem

According to the word of god

A son was born to holy Mary

That Christmas long ago

The music of the Shepard’s all around

A new king has arrived

And we are safe since he was born

That Christmas long ago

Music of the angels all around

Trumpets there forever

And we are safe since he was born

That Christmas long ago.

Shepard’s saw a star in the sky

That shone through the fog

And heard the sound of the angels

Enticing them with music

Mary and Joseph on a journey

To a big inn

They didn’t get a place to give birth to their child

And they left sadly.

In the end they found shelter in a small stable

And a cold manger without heat is where

The son of the virgin was born.
